Mama Daughter Date for Spring Break

 

Poor Reagan's spring break has been rather disappointing.  Both parents have to work, and there is snow everywhere.  We decided to have a Mama/Daughter date day, which entailed going for Baskin Robbins and then coming home to watch a movie and do some painting.  I did a portrait of Gunny, Reagan did an architectural painting.  It was fun!

Spring - Or Lack Thereof

 

BAHHHH.  Another snowstorm.  More snow.  Will this winter never end?  Enough already! Uncle!

Hanging with boys in Detroit

 This is the first time Rob and I have visited the boys together down in Detroit.  Rob wasn't feeling well, so we didn't do much, but it's always nice just to enjoy the view from their apartment.

So funny.  We walked to this little Thai restaurant in Mid Town, where there was a piece of paper at the til for people to doodle on while they waited for their food.  What did we find when we looked?  Someone had written "I wanna smash Quinn A." on it.  Apparently, that was the name of a group chat that Quinn had with his friends, but he had no idea who wrote that here!

A Lower Peninsula Track Clinic

 

Our 3rd Annual Lower Peninsula Adaptive Track and Field clinic included Gold Medal Paralympian and World Record Holder Susannah Scaroni.  Our little clinic!  I just emailed her and asked her to come, because she could only say no, right?  Well, she said YES!  I couldn't believe it.  She drove 10 hours round trip to join us, and was just the nicest, most sincere and humble person.  Just an amazing human being.  Susannah told me at one point "You know, I mixed up my calendar.  If I would've realized how close this clinic was to the New York Marathon, I would've said no.  But I'm so glad I agreed, because this is awesome and I want to come again next year and bring Daniel (another gold medalist paralympian) with me!"  HOLY SCHMOLIES.

We had an awesome turnout, an amazing facility, and had just so much fun.  It was a crazy busy day, and it was all a blur, but it was great.  It's going to be a fantastic track season, I have not the slightest doubt. 

The director of the University of Michigan had this to say on Instagram about our clinic:

Five of six members of our IAAAT board.  Some day all six of us will be in the same place at the same time!

Robotics at LSSU
