Boys Night
Rob's birthday is tomorrow, and the boys are off of school. Just seemed natural for a trip out of town! Us gals are holding down the fort here, while Dad and the party animals hit Wisconsin.
Here is the reported agenda:
3. and then play the Wii until the wee hours of the morning. At midnight, the plan is to eat cinnamon rolls. We'll see if they last that long.

- hit the indoor waterpark
2. watch some basketball on the boob tube

Addendum: The pictures are coming in real time. Colby not only DIDN'T make it to midnight - he didn't even make it til 6:30. Apparently, this was the wild man at dinner.
At least Quinn and Dad enjoyed their Mexican feast!

Saturday Night Sauna
After tonight's sauna, Quinn said "We are teaching Reagan the 'manly arts'." Manly arts? "Yeah, you know. Because only men take saunas."
It took me awile to convince him that women are perfectly capable of taking saunas, it's just that none of the women he knows like them. It's not an inherent Y-Chromosome trait. So there.
How I love a squeaky clean family!

Toboganning On A School-Less Friday
Apparently, Mom was the only person with outside obligations yesterday. All three kids had the day off, and they spent it toboganning with Daddy!

After School With Dad
This has been a tough winter. Lots of sub-zero days interspersed with blizzards and freezing rain. The actual middle-of-the-road winter days have been seemingly few and far between, so outdoor time has been at a minimum. Yesterday, though, was FINALLY a good, typical winter day. Rob took the kids out sled-jogging on the neighbor's airstrip. And I think the boys made up a new national pastime: the sledding snowball fight. Hmmmm. Mom might have suggested helmets and snowpants dad, had I been at home instead of at work. Good grief family.
And then, today....... another blizzard. School cancelled - again. We're going to be making up school until the 4th of July at this rate.

R.I.P. Morgan
Such a good dog. She lived a long life, and brought us alot of joy. She will be missed! Rest in peace, Miss Morgan.
Can't help but think back on two little boys that couldn't yet talk clearly, and how excited they were when we brought the "doggie oggie" home from the pound. I remember so vividly them squealing with glee, and running back and forth on their little toddler legs, chasing Morgan around the house. Feeling really sentimental tonight, like the "little kid-hood" of my children has died along with that black pup.

Blue and Gold Banquet
Cub Scouts continues. Little Men are now official Bear Cubs. Good job! If only your mother had sewn on instead of lost your Wolf badges from last year, you'd have quite the badge collection. Mom is not the most responsible or prepared scout in the troop.

First Ever Basketball Games
The boys had their first ever basketball games today, in a tournament representing the Chassell Panthers. They ran their little hearts out, those young men. Three games, essentially back to back. I was tired just watching them. WHEW! This is a fufillment of a long-team "Mommy dream" for me... watching my kids play basketball. I grew up watching basketball, have always loved basketball, and now... I have my own DNA to cheer for. GOOD JOB, little men! May we spend many more years in the bleachers!
P.S. I am no sports photographer, and the mix of rapidly moving children, poor lighting, and shaky hands was not the magic combo for decent pictures. Looks like I'm going to have to study up on how to improve my indoor picture taking if the boys are gonna stick with this basketball thing.
