There's no waiting this year to prepare for Christmas. We need joy, and lots of it, this year. So we put up the tree. And another tree. And another tree, and another tree. Yes. Four in all. Don't judge. There needs to be Christmas joy wherever we look, to chase away the long, bleak winter.
It's been a long time since we've gathered with Rob's family (only one time since Christmas 2019!!). Grandma and Grandpa decided to have Thanksgiving with us virtually due to health concerns with the pandemic. We missed them. But the rest of us ate our fill, and enjoyed each other's company. It felt good. We ARE thankful!
Sourdough was on the menu. Of course.
Litrugical New Year's Eve today, so we celebrated with roasted pork butt and a King cake. We read about the Cristeros war in Mexico, just a short 100 years ago. Bring on Advent!
This kid loves to bounce and flip, and he has been begging and begging for MONTHS to go to a trampoline park. So Dad, armed with a 50% off Groupon and a tiny home-built plane, flew Quinn to the next state over. There he was able to bounce to his heart's content, for three solid hours. By himself. He considers this training for the upcoming dive season. I'm super impressed with what Quinn is able to do. I get sick just looking at him!
