This is what the boys left behind AFTER they moved "all their stuff" to Detroit. ((sigh)). I'll get to that later, I guess. They also left behind one stuffed unicorn, which they had wanted to take to Detroit with them, but just would NOT fit in the Suburban. And yet, they refused to let me donate said unicorn to Goodwill. Since then, the Unicorn has wandered around the house, listless and trying to find purpose, with her boys gone. I feel you, unicorn.
Both boys are heading south for the school year. Colby decided to become a Wayne State Warrior, and they are moving into an apartment together with two other friends. This is a big deal. Colby wants desperately to move out and be his own man. The mama worries how it will all go, but they have each other, and I'm so glad for that. They'll have each other's backs, these boys, and that makes me feel better.
It's going to be very quiet around here.
It is the kids and my tradition to go shopping for school clothes in Marquette, and have lunch and milkshakes at Hudson's. That's what we did today, before both boys leave for the big city in the much too near future!
