Halloween Day 3

This has been the perfect Trifecta of Halloween weekends.  School teachers are quivering in their beds right now, I have no doubt.  THREE days of candy and parties for little ones?  Monday is going to be all kinds of fun.     Our evening started with  trick-or-treating at Grandma's and Uncle Carly's houses, and was followed by the Chassell Lion's Halloween Party.  I'd like to announce that  MY DAUGHTER won third place in the costume contest (insert stage mother gloating here).  YEAH,  Princess Leia!  Way to pull off those Cinnamon Buns!  Of course, I was her escort during the costume parade, so I have no pictures of the big event ... but since we took an overabundance last night, y'all know what she looked like anyways.
Lots of fun, lots of candy. Lots of chocolate-stained Star Wars costumes.

Reagan, in what  MUST be some kind of genetic mutation, is somewhat of a clean freak.  She allowed herself to get appropriately goopy, but then insisted on washing her hands after each piece of candy.  Next thing I know, she's sitting on the floor scrubbing it clean, too.  OK.  WHERE did that personality trait come from??? We're letting her keep the Aho name, but only because she's cute.

Quinn really was having fun.  I know because I asked him.  Whenever the camera came out, though,  he assumed "Serious Jedi Face".  Fighting the dark side of the Force can do that to a guy, I guess.

Halloween Day 2

This is turning into the "Season of Halloween", stretching out nearly as long as Christmas. Tonight's festivities took us to Michigan Tech University, to tour the dorms. An hour and a half wait in a mass of people, with nothing for short people to do but eat cotton candy and cookies (!!!!) was NOT pretty. Really. Especially when they're armed with Light Sabers. I think I'm going to have a really hard time convincing Dad to join us again next year. Our troop was fully "Star Wars-esque" with the addition of Princess Leia. I wore the "cinnamon-bun" head band on my own head for hours today, in an effort to make them look "cool", since Reagan wouldn't initially keep them on. She's an easy target for peer pressure - she wants to do whatever it is everyone else is doing. The plan worked -- she kept those things on her head nearly all night! You're going to see a lot of pictures of her. She was adorable, so you'll just have to bear with us. Now that both Mom AND Dad have cameras, well... we're documenting from all angles.

This picture was a total accident, but it reminds me of the scene where R2D2 is projecting an image of Princess Leia (maybe I've seen the movie a few too many times), and she's saying "Help us Obi Wan".

Treat Street With Daddy

The Men Folk hit downtown last night to check out the Treats and Scares. Their first haunted house, Rob? I wonder WHY they were wide awake at o'dark thirty this morning ;)

School Halloween Party

First Grade Halloween Party. Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker showed up to class, and were greeted by not one, not two, but THREE Darth Vaders. Something about little boys and Star Wars. I dunno.

This picture reminds me of Ben and Darth Vader's "fight to the death" scene in the original Star Wars.  Only this time it takes place at school, while sitting at a miniature table, witnessed by Kermit the Frog and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Halloween Cupcakes

A girlfriend and I made 44 of these spooky things today, to take to the boys' Halloween party at school tomorrow :)  The really great thing about photographing baked goods is that they're always looking at the camera when you need them to.

The Great Pumpkin Carve

So, the pumpkins were carved yesterday after school.  Reagan even took a butter knife to the lids, so we were all in on the act!

Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch

Rob's sister and husband are up visiting, so we all headed out to the local pumpkin patch.  Pretty fun!  There was also a trebouchet for pumpkin flinging.  You've never seen a pumpkin go "SPLAT" quite so dramatically as when it is flung from 500 feet away ;)
