Another trip to Detroit

 Because she begged and begged, Reagan accompanied Dad on his work trip to Lansing, so that she could visit her brother at Wayne State and get to see Detroit again.  This time, Dad LEFT HER THERE in the care of her brother (!!!).  At first I was like "I'm ok with Reagan missing a few days of school, because she's a good student."  Then it hit me... I'm letting a fourteen year old girl spend time on a college campus with a bunch of college guys in the middle of inner-city Detroit???  WHAT AM I CRAZY?!?!  But by the time that thought hit, they were already on their way.  I called Quinn in a panic and made him promise me on his very life that he would protect his sister's safety, innocence, and virtue.  I made him promise that she would be accompanied by him at every moment, and treated like the glass flower that she is.  And I tracked them via phone every second she was there.  "WHY are you not in your dorm room Quinn?  You're supposed to be in your dorm room!"  "I'm feeding her, Mom.  She needs to eat."  OK.  Well.  OK.  

She loved spending time with her brother, and tasting the "college experience".  

And I can breathe a sigh of relief because she made it home safe and sound.

An Upper Peninsula Track Clinic

 It was COLD AND RAINY on this day, but that didn't stop us from having a track clinic.  Yoopers are tough I tell you!  They've got the sisu, and I am thankful for it!  What a wonderful day this was!  We had paralympian and adaptive track coach Amie Day join us, along with the University of Michigan Adaptive Track and Field team AND (virtually, but still!) literally the fastest wheelchair racer in the world Gold Medalist Susannah Scaroni.  You could not get more experienced and knowledgeable experts to lead our clinic, and I was just so excited to have these amazing people share their knowledge with kids from our rural area!!  So blessed to live in this supportive community, that works together to make things like this happen!!  SO COOL.
