Gone With The Wind Night

My friend Lacey has never seen the movie "Gone With the Wind", nor ever read the book.  This is inconceivable to me, since it is one of my all-time favorites.  Since Lacey and I share many of the same "favorite books", I was absolutely sure she would love "Gone With the Wind" as much as I did.  So, we rustled up a southern-themed meal of oven-baked friend chicken, corn on the cob, sautéed collard greens, corn bread muffins, coleslaw, strawberry cream mimosas, and fruit salad, followed by peach cobbler.... and got to watching!  Somewhere in to the third hour, Lacey had to leave with her kids because it was bed time (I hadn't realized that it's a nearly FOUR HOUR long movie!), so I had to finish on my own.  But Lacey assured me she would watch the ending from home, and sigh along with me at the tragedy that is the love affair of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara.  Such a great story!  And such a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Mom, Dad and I drove around Calumet and Lake Linden, and ended up at Lindell's Chocolate Shop for lunch!

Reagan's First Communion

Oh, what a blessed, beautiful, perfect day this was!  Just what it should've been.   I caught a glimpse of the congregation and have it on good authority that there was nary a dry eye in the church.  The Holy Spirit was present - we could feel it.  Surrounded by loved ones, in this holy place, at this sacred moment.  ((sigh))

The paparazzi did not let up during Mass.  I make no apologies for the amount of pictures :).  They're in no particular order, because there were like 7 cameras going at once, and to put them chronologically would take more effort than I'm capable of at the moment.

Later, we had everyone over for dinner.  Reagan chose stir fry as her dinner of choice, so stir fry it was!!  With LOTS of cake for dessert.
