The Wrights Visit the U.P.

Rob's sister and family are up visiting, so today we hung out a his parents' place and enjoyed the company and the lake. After dinner, we all went to see Toy Story 3, which I'd recommend. Very cute. Colby has found a new buddy in his cousin Steven. He says that they're the "Steven" club, because that's his middle name, too. And Aunt Diane told him that if he ate his vegetables, maybe he'd grow up to be 6'5" like Big Steve, too! The weather is slowly turning summerish. I could stand tome heavy-duty heat right about now, but will be content with any day that's not deluged with rain.

The Boys Go A'floatin'.

Grandpa Al, Daddy Rob, Quinn and Colby spent a rainy weekend on the Broule river this past weekend. They made it home soggy, safe, and sound! Apparently the rain was a "calming" sound at night, and the clouds broke during the day. These are the stuff of memories, young men!

Utter Joy

Oh, the joy of clean, white walls. Some may claim that white is boring. Where's the color? Where's the style? I, however, am thrilled with my white walls. These are walls that are FRESH, free of peanut butter, mud hand prints, and the tracks of toy cars. These walls have had the dents of banging toys spackled out of them. These are walls that now scream "You ARE an accomplished housekeeper! You CAN keep ahead of filthy children! You are a good mom because you have fabulous WHITE WALLS!!" They are beautiful. And I am determined that they will stay unmarred.

Girl Time

Rob and the boys went camping this weekend. That means a quiet house for Reagan and I. So excited I couldn't sleep ;). Not that I won't miss my men-folk, but just dreaming about the possibilities of un-claimed time has me giddy. This is what I hope to accomplish this weekend:

1. Clean the house. Including my bedroom and bathroom. So I don't have to lock my bedroom door when the babysitter comes over on Monday. And have the house STAY CLEAN for an entire over-night period, without Y-chromosomes to mess it up.

2. Paint the walls. The hallways, the stairwells, the bathroom. Cover over all the gunk and grime, and start FRESH, with clean, white, stain-resistant walls that wipe clean with water. AHHHH. I'm buying the good stuff this time.

3. Write a patent, have it in the mail by Monday.

This on top of going to church, visiting with a friend, and going grocery shopping. Tall order? Maybe. Better get off the computer and get to it. Just.... the OPPORTUNITY to get projects done makes me feel so UNENCUMBERED for one, glorious weekend!!!! Oh joy! And there will be no cooking, which leads to more mess and dishes and sweeping and time-consumption! I can hardly stand it!

Happy Father's Day

What a lovely day. I'll let the pictures say it all. We're blessed to have THIS Dad in our lives!

Quinn is newly obsessed with basketball. I WISH there were youth leagues here, but alas... he will have to make due with the hoop grandpa Al put up at his house, because we don't even have PAVEMENT in our neck of the woods. Both boys do pretty good! I would love them to be basketball players - anything to avoid the dreaded, life-consuming HOCKEY that prevails up here.

OK. Look how far BACKWARDS Quinn's arms go. Can we say "Hypermobile"??

Getting coached by Grandpa Al. Colby's soaking it all in.
