Happy Thanksgiving!

Had the Ahos over for some turkey to celebrate Thanksgiving this year.  It also happened to be Jennie's 18th birthday!

Snobots in Petoskey

Both boys joined Houghton's FIRST robotics team this year, the "Snobots".  At regionals in Petoskey, the team did well, but didn't move on to the next round.  They did when a trophy for best controller design, though, which was pretty darned cool!  As much as they didn't like putting in 6 hours a week designing and constructing their robot "Rubik", both boys said they wanted to join again next year.  That's a pretty cool thing.  And speaking of cool... middle schoolers at a robotics competition breaking out into dance, well.....

A Bowling Birthday Party

So, I wanted her to do an Anne of Green Gables Tea Party for her birthday.  But she wanted a plain old bowling party.  And I guess, it's her birthday... she should get what she wants.  But that Anne of Green Gables tea party would've been epic.  I do have to admit, the bowling party was NO WORK for me at all, which is awesome.  I literally showed up with a cake and that's it.  They decorated, provided food, entertainment, cleaned up.   Even provided the birthday candles that I forgot.   There's really something to be said for all of that.  And those girls did have a lot of fun.  MAN were they wound up!  Five 2nd graders, even pre-sugar high, are a force to be reckoned with!

Football Wrap Up

First official football season in the books.  Colby played maybe half the games because of frequent injuries, but... it is done.  The Gremlins ended the season with about a 50% win record, but played hard.  Good job, boys!
