Happy Michaelmas! We didn't do it up quite as cool as last year, (too distracted to make dough for dragon bread, and forgot to buy blackberries!) but we DID celebrate with a harvest-themed meal of roast pork with apples, celery and carrots in a plum barbecue sauce. We followed that by reading about the ouster of the devil from Heaven in Revelations, reading about the history of the feast day, and then trying to learn the St. Michael Prayer. Lots of questions about angels and devils and where Heaven is, and if God lives in our dimension or not, and Pope Leo XIII, and and and. I'm happy to report that all three kids REMEMBERED last year, and said "Oh? Is it Michaelmas again?" WIN!! It's working!! They remembered Michaelmas!!
