New Years Eve

 Fairly low-key NYE over here.  The boys invited some friends over to play Bunko and other games. We had fun.

Welcome 2023!  It'll be interesting to see what the year brings!

Great Gatsby Date Night

 Rob had a very specific request for his Christmas present.  He wanted a date night ala "The Great Gatsby".  He wanted a night at the Vault Hotel's underground speakeasy and a dinner at The Continental Fire Company, all while both of us were dressed in 20's era clothing.  If any of you know my Finnish, engineer husband, you would appreciate how out of character "dressing up" is for him, so the request kind of surprised me.    He had thought about what he wanted to eat for dinner, which period drinks he wanted at the bar, and the music he wanted to listen to.  Every detail he had planned and my job was to make it happen.  He gets these ideas and tasks me with executing them for his Christmas present.  Last year was a trip to NYC to see Phil Collins.  This one seemed far more doable at least.  And I aim to please, so I bought us both outfits, rented the room, made reservations.  

It was a fun night.  We had the speakeasy to ourselves, which was great.  Being tourists in our own town every now and again helps us to see this place through new eyes.

Reagan created this piece of artwork for me from a picture I gave her!  I plan to use it for advertising for our upcoming track clinic!  Does she know her mama or what?

Rob's gift to me was a history of our home, gathered from the title company.  So cool.  There were some surprises in there we knew nothing about!

So Quinn can take Gunny to school with him.  

I made blankets for both boys out of their old sports t-shirts over the years.
