It is NOT easy to pull of a surprise anniversary party when you have a family reunion the weekend before, and every sister, brother, aunt, uncle, niece and nephew knows about it. Keeping things secret is HARD HARD HARD! But I think we Eixenbergers did a pretty good job of pulling off a surprise party for Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jack's 50th! They may have suspected something was afoot, especially when the entire household just up and "left for icecream" while dressed up.... but I think on the whole they didn't see it coming precisely as it came :). Mom worked really hard. She's so good at party planning and making things special. It was a really lovely evening!! 50 years! WOW! That's a lot to be proud of!!
If she wasn't really surprised, she was a very good actor!
Matt and Liz flew all the way in from Arizona to be there!
And Aunt Pat flew (by herself!!) from Seattle!
Everyone was hugging everybody else.
Mom was MC and Grand Marshal.
And Father Jack Krier led the renewal of vows.
