Halloween this year fell on a Saturday. It also fell on the full moon. Reagan decided to have a Halloween birthday party this year, since.. you know.. it's only once every seven years that it falls on a Saturday!
She wanted to go Trick or Treating, as she had never gone before. (I know. It's un-American. My kids have only ever gone to the Chassell VFW Halloween party, but that was cancelled this year, so... trick or treating it was!). I had to encourage Reagan and her friend to actually go up to strangers' houses, because they were too nervous to do it! I gave them the low-down from my years of expertise (Look for lights on, and Halloween decorations. That means they are open for business). 99% of the houses just had a bowl of candy sitting outside this pandemic year (only 50% of the houses even participated, and kids were few and far between), so we felt very safe. We went up and down one street before picking up some pizza and heading home, to meet up with the rest of Reagan's friends for a sleep over. Check Trick or Treating off the bucket list.
