Both Quinn and Colby made it to Regionals in the Pole Vault. How cool is that?? Even better, Colby got a PR and third place, and Quinn got 2nd place! On to UP Finals for Quinn! A great finish to a high school track career for Colbyman. Proud of these flying boys.
See, us parents are smart. The boys have an incredibly tight-knit group of friends, and I knew there was no way they would miss one of their friends' graduation parties, which means we would have to schedule around nine OTHER parties if we were to do one ourselves. That is the stuff of nightmares. So we decided to do just a ginormous group graduation party with all of them! We rented the pavilion at Chassell park, and collaborated on everything from food to decorations to invites, the slide show - everything. It worked out SO WELL and made for a stress-free afternoon that turned out fabulous! My only regret is that I had taken hours worth of fabulous pictures with my good camera and then realized.... I had forgotten to put the SD card in the stupid thing!! All those snaps, capturing "the moments" were gone. UGH UGH UGH. Luckily, other families took pics with their phones are were gracious enough to share with me, or I would have no evidence that the party actually took place, which is unacceptable. The party was great, the kids had so much fun and it was a fantastic time. Man, I am going to miss these kids!
Quinn plays the organ at both a Methodist church and our own St. Anne's on Sundays, and everyone has been extremely kind to him. We all went to watch him play at the Methodist church, where they had a cake and reception for him, and then St. Anne's had a blessing for both boys afterwards as well. How I'm going to miss hearing this boy play at church on Sundays!
The boys and I are recuperating from the all-nighter, laying low, while Grandma and Grandpa cook us ham and help us get ready for the graduation party tomorrow!

The boys had their all-nighter, and I didn't get too many pictures, even though I volunteered to be chaperone for four hours in the middle of the night. Didn't want to lurk, you know. But they had fun. I witnessed it. Quinn won a karaoke machine, and Colby won cold hard cash, and they both came home tired and happy. Mom and I had a bonfire in the yard. It's all a blur. They are graduated. Nothing will ever be the same. I'm going to need to wrap my head around that fact.
