A Mom-Oops
Colby, at looooooooooong last, lost his front bottom tooth. The permanent tooth had nearly completely grown in behind the baby tooth. It was loose and ready to come out for over two months. The tooth extraction process had taken much much much too long. He yanked it early yesterday morning, which meant the tooth had to survive an entire day in the household before being claimed by the tooth fairy. {shudder}. Colby put it in a glass of water in the kitchen. He thought it would be safe. He thought wrong.
A few hours later, in a cleaning frenzy, I emptied the water out of the cup into the drain, and put it in the dishwasher. OOPS.
Colby was naturally distraught. Mom felt AWFUL. He decided to write a letter to the toothfairy, explaining the situation. He folded the letter up neatly, addressed it to the tooth fairy, and put it under his pillow.
The tooth fairy ALMOST forgot to come. Luckily, she remembered around 6 am this morning, because otherwise the situation would have been even more crushing to one little boy. As it was, Colby came into my bedroom around 7 am, near tears, holding his tooth fairy letter.
"It didn't work, Mom. She didn't read the letter. There wasn't anything under my pillow!" Darn insensitive tooth fairy!
"Are you sure? The toothfairy rarely forgets." (yeah RIGHT)
"Well, there was no tooth, and she probably didn't want a letter." He was utterly dejected.
"Let's go look together".
So we went together up to his room, turned on the light, and did a thorough search. Colby sleeps on a top bunk, and is a tosser when he sleeps. Turns out, we found a dollar bill in an open underwear drawer located just beneath his bed. PHEW! All is right with the world.
Still, Colby had this piece of advice for the future....
"Mom, if you ever see a bucket of water with something small and white in it... DON'T THROW IT OUT!"
Okay okay okay.

Bedtime Routine in Reverse
New era around here, where Quinn and Colby do the reading at bedtime, putting Grandma and Grandpa to sleep. It worked! Grandma could barely keep her eyes open ;).
This makes me laugh. Grandma wasn't too keen on the Paparazzi catching the moment on film. :)

Celebrating
It was Reagan's 2-Year Birthday yesterday, and the morning began with a stunning full double rainbow. What a gift! There was laundry, a messy house to clean, and 13 people coming for dinner.... but us gals threw all of those responsibilities to the wind, in order to celebrate little girl's special day with a "Mommy Daughter" date. We went to playgroup this morning, and then out to lunch (okay, McDonald's, but Reagan was THRILLED with her little Happy Meal toy. Insisted on taking her nap with the plastic spider. Whatever). Afterwards, Uncle Carly, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Andrea and Uncle Al et al. came over for lasagna and cake. Little girl was crabby from her busy day, but looked adorable in her party dress from Grandma Betty and Grandpa Jim. She's a blessed little girl to be loved by so many people!

Tranquility
It doesn't happen often, so when it does, it is definitely a bloggable moment. Three children. One sand box. No fighting. All is right with the world.
