Time with Grandma LaVerne

We spend nearly every day we can at the hospital with Mim.  We read to her, play her favorite songs on YouTube, and hold her hand.  She seems to be perking up, and sometimes we can understand what she is trying to say.  The big decision is whether or not to put in a feeding tube.  Grandma keeps pointing towards heaven and mouthing "I want to go home", but none of us are quite ready to let her go yet.  This is hard.  

Escape to his Happy Place

 Mim is in the hospital, and life is very heavy as the family tries to make some really, really hard decisions.  Rob needed to take a break to his happy place at Sandy Bay.  

The Very Bad Day

 This is a blog about our life.  And life is good and bad.  Even when we don't WANT to remember things, it's important that we do.  Today, Rob and I got a phone call from Grandpa Al that something was wrong with Mim.  Like.... really wrong.  She was sitting on the couch, he was putting a log on the fire, and she made a noise like she was calling out to him.  When he turned around, she was reaching out for him - with one arm.  Rob and I got there just as the Chassell first responders were.  Literally within minutes.  So thankful for the quick action by our local volunteer first responders.  They stabilized her and kept us all calm until the ambulance came to whisk her away.  Hours at the ER confirmed what I already knew and had told Rob immediately.  Mim had had a stroke.  A very big stroke, affecting the left side of her body.  She couldn't talk understandably, but understood everything.  She gestured to us with thumbs up and thumbs down, and tried to write.  Grandpa is a mess.  This is a big, life changing thing.  We all spent a lot of time crying this day.  Oh, Mim.

 Two pole vaulters braved the wind and cold (MAN was it cold!).   Colby got his personal best and came in 3rd this meet!  Good on you, Colbyman!

 He is Risen!  He is Risen Indeed!  The family gathered to celebrate the resurrection!  It was a good day!

Holy Saturday

 Reagan used all natural dyes to color eggs this year.  Beet juice, cumin... that type of thing.  I'm not entirely sure what all the concoctions were that she came up with to make the eggs these colors, but I love them!  So pretty!

My new "rose window" liturgical plate is ready to go for tomorrow!

And..... there's snow for Easter.  Of course there is.

One Last Gremlin Swim Meet

 Michigna Tech has a swim club, and they hosted a meet with our Houghton swim team.  This gave me ONE last opportunity to watch Quinn dive before he graduates.   Colby, unfortunately, had to work.  A lot of "lasts" coming up now, and that makes me sad.  Thus, I take way too many pictures :).
