Today, her last full day at home before she leaves, Reagan and I did pedicures and went to go visit Grandpa Al so she could say goodbye. We had invited Grandpa to dinner, but he had had a rough day and wasn't quite up to that. Fair enough - we came to him so Reagan could say farewell.

Bonfire in the Yard
Reagan invited her friends over for a good-bye bonfire in our backyard. I provided the fixings for S'mores and lit the fire, and then did my best to stay away, but I HAD to peek out the window every now and again. Reagan is blessed with good friends. They are going to miss each other!

A Day With the Daughter, and Slumber Party On the Boat
I reserved her in advance. "Saturday, plan nothing with your friends. You are dedicated to spending time with Dad and I." It's her last weekend before she's gone for a YEAR, people. Between her friends and working two jobs, I've hardly seen her this summer. She was supposed to waitress at the Hunan Garden this day, but I told her to call in sick. She is NOT working the last weekend before she leaves. She is spending it with her mama. I even told her I would pay her whatever $$ she would've made by working, if she would cancel. She didn't hold me to that, but it got the point across. OK. Enough with work. It's a quality-time kind of weekend.
First, the mama and girl voyaged to McClain State Park to bond with Mama Superior.
There was, of course, ice cream.
Reagan is not the most engaging travel-mate when the car is in motion. I'll forgive her this lone flaw.
Ohhhhhhhhh, darlin' daughter. It is going to be SO HARD to let you go!

At Long Last - Splash Day!
It is a travesty that it is already August and our little sailboat is JUST getting in the water. This summer has been far too busy for my liking and is zooming by way too quickly. Second Wind had her splash day today, and we didn't sail, but we did sit on her and soak in the lovely evening. Sometimes that's enough. With such a late start, we better keep her in the water until the lake starts to freeze.
